The old house was starting to look tired. It had been thirty years since the last coat of paint, and Jeanie was ready for something new.
She selected a delicious chocolate brown (yes, I could have licked the paintbrush) to be contrasted with a bright white on the accents.
Since the house was sided with a sturdy cement board, the preparation was simple. After a little pressure washing, there was just some caulking to do on the cracks and nail holes. Then we got to work.
It never ceases to amaze me how much a coat of paint can do. You can really notice it at the hard lines between the original color and that first coat. Look at that!

Painting was straightforward – nothing too high or too difficult. However, there was that one moment when a testy yellow jacket decided to dive bomb me. I have to evacuate pretty quick!
All in all, Jeanie was very pleased. The old house looks like new!
